Perfect Your Investor Pitch: Tips & Best Practices

Amsterdam | September 19th, 2024
13:30 - 21:00

Join a cohort of peers and industry experts, including Forum Ventures investor and operator Ryan Sarver, and Gradient Ventures Limited Partner Marin Licina, to refine the content and delivery of your pitch deck.

The objective is to ensure your pitch effectively conveys your business essence, compellingly narrates your journey, and spotlights critical facets of your product.

This session is part of our Autumn Community Gathering, featuring multiple concurrent sessions, wrapped up with an AMA with Backbase founder and CEO Jouk Pleiter, followed by dinner and drinks with the broader community.

What you'll gain from this session

  • Direct insights from seasoned investors about pitching your company.

  • Guidance on formatting your pitch deck to highlight crucial information effectively.

  • The opportunity (only if you want) to present your pitch in the session for real-time feedback.

  • If you don't want to present, the opportunity to have feedback on your pitch deck outside of the session.

[Important] How to prepare for this session

  • Prior to the session, we will have already selected 3 or 4 founders who will be pitching for real-time feedback from experts and peers (you can opt in or out of this in the session registration form).

  • For presenters: To maximise the value of this session, practice your pitch as if it were the real deal. This approach allows both experts and peers to fully assess the strengths and weaknesses of your presentation.

  • For non-presenters: To get the most out of this session, we highly recommend you send your pitch deck to us at scale@techleap.nl. Ryan Sarver, a seasoned investor from our session, and Emma Bell, Venture Partner at Techleap, will provide you with constructive feedback outside of the session.

  • If you need guidance on pitching, we often refer to this Series A pitch deck guide. This is a guide for a comprehensive pitch deck lasting between 10-15 minutes.

This session is ideal for...

  • Founders, CEOs, and C-suite executives responsible for fundraising and/or investor relations from our Techleap for Scaleups Community.

  • Companies that are looking to raise a Series A round or above in the near future.

  • Individuals who are open-minded to practise presenting AND/OR getting feedback on their pitch deck.

  • Ideally you already have your first draft deck ready and can present it in the session or send it over to receive written feedback by our experts.
